Getting a lower-embodied-carbon precast concept from idea to field-proven would take real testing, real trials and real partners — none of which has happened yet. We're building this pathway with a mix of our own effort and, where it fits, co-funding and grant support, subject to successful product development, partner engagement and funding support. We're transparent about what stage that's at.
Three areas of early-stage technical development
Low-carbon binder development
Planned mix design, testing and validation of geopolymer and alternative binder concrete for future utility precast applications.
Regional manufacturing model
Planning a manufacturing model suited to regional NSW conditions, workforce and logistics — not yet established.
Utility product design
Developing pit, plinth and (future) culvert concepts intended to align with network operator and council specifications.
Planned alignment with regional and low-carbon industry priorities
This work is intended to sit within the categories of regional economic development, circular economy, and low-carbon manufacturing that state and federal grant and innovation programs are designed to support — a grant-relevant development pathway, not a funded or completed program. We won't list specific program names or funding outcomes here until an application is actually underway or a grant has actually been secured — see ourDecarbonisation Alignment page for the detailed policy mapping behind this.

Co-funding & in-kind partnerships
Conversations with funding bodies, research commercialisation programs and industry co-investors interested in our intended contribution to regional low-carbon infrastructure.
Letters of support
Written support from contractors, councils and utilities who would value a future regional, lower-carbon precast supply option. Grant assessment criteria typically weight demonstrated demand and regional support heavily — a short letter from your organisation carries real weight in our applications.
We report against milestones, not intentions
Where we do receive grant or co-funding support, we intend to report progress against the milestones set out on our About page — product testing, field trials, and standards alignment — rather than restate general ambitions. This entire pathway is subject to successful product development, partner engagement and funding support; none of it should be read as already achieved.
